ABOUT US
In November 2022, the Cat & Wickets Pub Company, founded by cricketers Stuart Broad and Harry Gurney, took over the historic Griffin Inn, located in the charming village of Swithland. Known for their passion for great pubs and genuine hospitality, the Cat & Wickets team set out to enhance the Griffin Inn’s reputation, blending tradition with a fresh new energy.
The Griffin Inn has always been a cherished part of the community, and since taking the reins, we’ve worked hard to build on that legacy. Our goal is simple: to provide a warm, welcoming space where locals and visitors alike can enjoy exceptional food, drink, and atmosphere. We offer a thoughtfully crafted menu, with both classic pub favorites and modern dishes, alongside a carefully selected range of beers, wines, and cocktails.
In January 2024, we closed the pub for a major 12-week refurbishment to bring a new level of comfort and style to the Griffin Inn. This renovation gave us the opportunity to enhance every corner of the pub, blending modern touches with the timeless character that people love about us. From the updated décor to improvements in our dining and bar areas, the refurbished Griffin Inn offers a fresh look while still feeling like the same beloved local pub.
Now reopened, the Griffin Inn continues to be a cornerstone of Swithland life. Whether you’re stopping by for a relaxed drink, a hearty meal, or a special occasion, we’re here to ensure every visit is memorable. We can’t wait to welcome you and show you what’s new.
